My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor,
and some style.

Cliftons are the first shoe I tried on from HOKA and they are fantastic! They are surprisingly lightweight and smooth. They make running more enjoyable on any surface.

Futsum joined the team in April of 2017, returning to Flagstaff after a stellar collegiate career at Northern Arizona University. Before his NAU career, he was a National Cross Country Champion in high school at Indiana’s North Central High. One of eight Zeinasellassie children, Futsum has three brothers and four sisters.

Futsum made his professional debut in May and set a personal best at 5,000 meters of 13:36.08 at the USATF Distance Classic. Three weeks later he lowered that mark to 13:34.84 at the Portland Track Festival. This fall he is preparing for a series of road races and potentially a half marathon debut.

Futsum was a six-time first team All-American at Northern Arizona University. In 2016 alone he was fourth at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships over 5,000 meters, second at the Outdoor Championships over 10,000 meters and fourth at the Cross Country Championships. That fourth-place finish helped lead NAU to the team title–its first ever National Championship in any sport. His 27:52.70 10,000 meter best is an NAU school record.
