Aaron Braun to Race Boilermaker 15k, Ben Bruce to race Loon Mountain, AJC Peachtree Recap

FLAGSTAFF, (AZ) – JULY 6, 2018 – Following his second-place finish on the fourth of July at the Downtown Mile in Flagstaff, veteran Aaron Braun heads to Utica, New York to challenge a strong international field at the Boilermaker 15k.

Braun will look to capitalize on recent training efforts and continue his build-up to the next marathon cycle. The field includes defending champion Silas Kipruto (Kenya) as well as last year’s runner-up, Teshome Mekonen (Ethiopia) and Gabriel Geay, who recently won the BAA 10k on June 24.

Ben Bruce will also be in action on the east coast this week as he takes on the Loon Mountain Race and challenge for a spot on Team USA for the 2018 World Mountain Running Championships. Should Bruce make the team it will be the fourth different discipline at which he’s competed in a World Championship, having previously competed at the World Track and Field Champs (steeple), the World Cross Country Champs and the World Half Marathon Champs.

The women of HOKA ONE ONE NAZ Elite continued their phenomenal season earlier in the week with Stephanie Bruce and Aliphine Tuliamuk finishing 1-2 at the AJC Peachtree Road Race in Atlanta. The race served as the USATF 10k Championships and saw Bruce capture her first national title turning in a personal-best by over 30 seconds.
